About Us

The Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of Indian River County, a local non-profit, 501c3  organization,  and it’s Center for Memory and Motion serves community members who are affected from memory and/or motion disorders by offering support groups, social programs and educational conferences as well as being a resource for other local organizations.

In 2015, the Alzheimer and Parkinson Associate of Indian River County changed its name to the Center of Memory and Motion. This change was brought on because the Center of Memory and Motion serves clients who suffer from various types of memory and motion disorders- not just Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. The Center of Memory and Motion serves all those affected from a wide range of dementia-related disorders including but not limited to Frontotemporal Lobe dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, vascular dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebellar Ataxia, and Atypical Parkinsonism. The change in name also encourages community members who normally wouldn’t take advantage of programs like the parents of children with autism utilizing Project Lifesaver.

The Center for Memory and Motion strives to create an atmosphere where clients are met at their level and surrounded by positive reinforcement and caregivers feel supported.

Mission Statement
